You can watch the complete step-by-step process of setting up an experiment utilizing a Shopify variant below, or keep reading for an overview. As a reminder, Compose is platform agnostic, this article is only meant to assist customers who have integrated with Shopify to allow for no-code split theme and template testing.
What's Different?
If you're using the Shopify integration, your experience with Compose will be almost identical to everyone else. The key difference is that you will have an additional variant option named "Shopify." However, you can also still use any of the other variant types or mix and match them as needed.
Split Theme vs Split Template Testing
When selected, you will then have the option to choose between a split theme or a split template test. Split theme tests are great for sitewide changes like branding updates, updates to the navigation...etc. Split template tests are for testing individual templates against each other (i.e. product page, collection page, or page templates). You will create your variants ahead of time in Shopify and then you can select the theme or template you would like to test directly in Compose.
