Compose was designed to keep your experimentation strategy as organized as possible, which is why you can link your hypotheses, roadmap items, and experiments together for easy reference later. Quickly scroll back through your roadmap and find experiments you want to reference. Or at the end of the quarter look back at your experiment data and be able to quickly open up the original hypothesis ticket to refresh your memory on what was being tested and why.
Linking hypotheses to the roadmap
Go to the hypothesis list, and there is an icon that allows you to add the hypothesis to your roadmap. This will automatically link the two.
Or select the "Plan on roadmap" button at the top right of the roadmap page. The modal will allow you to give the item a name, month, and search for a hypothesis to link to. You are required to link a hypothesis when creating a roadmap item. So these will always be linked.
From the hypothesis list, you can tell if a hypothesis is on the roadmap by the color of the roadmap icon. Purple means it is on the roadmap, and grey means it is not. You can also click "view on roadmap" to jump to the month where this hypothesis is located.
Linking experiments to hypotheses
When creating an Experiment, you have the option to link a previously created hypothesis. This will automatically link it to the roadmap item as well assuming it is created.
Under 'Link Hypothesis', you will be able to select from already created hypotheses which one your experiment corresponds to. Note: you will need to wait a moment or click "Save draft" before you will be able to interact with the Link Hypothesis dropdown on the page.
After your experiment is live/complete, you can reference the linked hypothesis by going to "More Actions" and selecting "View Hypothesis."
