It sometimes helps to replace the word "projects" with "domains" in your mind. Compose allows you to experiment on an unlimited number of domains within a single organization.
Your billing will be set up on an organization level, but if you would like to experiment on multiple websites under the one account, that's where adding multiple projects will come in.
Every account will be a part of at least one organization and one project. In many cases, these may have the same name if you are a standard eCommerce store with a single website.
Cases where you may have multiple projects
If you are an agency, you may want to set up an organization account with projects for each of your clients. Keep in mind, this would mean that you as an agency are billed for all of the MTUs, so we recommend this for agency teams who offer packages that include the software fees, or you will need to bill your clients for the software separately since billing is managed on an organization level. However, agencies can also be invited to multiple organizations and see them all in their dashboard if you would prefer clients manage their own billing.
If your business has multiple different websites for different countries for example, or sub brands, you can easily manage all from one account by utilizing projects.
