Glossary – Compose Support

Audience - a group of people who are targeted by an experiment

Confidence - a metric that describes the likelihood that an observed difference between two groups is due to chance

Confidence Threshold - the minimum confidence level that must be reached before a variant can be declared the winner of an experiment

Control - the variable that is held constant throughout the experiment. In A/B testing, this is the original variation and is used as the baseline for comparing your variants.'

Conversion - an action that a user takes on a website that is considered valuable to the business

Conversion Rate - the percent of visitors who convert

Growth - the percent change compared to the baseline, in Compose we are generally comparing conversions

Hypothesis - a statement that describes the expected outcome of an experiment

Pie Score - a 1 to 10 rating that puts equal weight to 3 factors: potential, importance, ease

Roadmap - a list of features that are planned for a product

Statistical Significance - a metric that describes the likelihood that an observed difference between two groups is due to chance

Traffic - the number of users who are exposed to an experiment

Traffic Allocation - the percentage of traffic that is allocated to each variant in an experiment

Variant - a version of a feature that is being tested in an experiment
