To create a Hypothesis, go to the Planning section of your project and click ‘Create Hypothesis’.
This will open up a form where you will fill out the following details about your Hypothesis:
Name of Hypothesis - give a descriptive enough name so you are able to decipher what it is at a glance.
Objective - what is the purpose or goal of this hypothesis? This is a perfect opportunity to use the if-then-because hypothesis format. Read some strong examples.
Media - this is not available until after the initial creation. After clicking confirm, then you can edit the hypothesis and add media. The media section is a perfect place to add screenshots of the designs, example references on competitor sites, or any other visuals that provide clarification for your hypothesis.
Site Areas - a list of pages/locations on the site that will be modified.
Primary Goal - what does this hypothesis mainly aim to accomplish? Select from a dropdown of Compose's default goals (increase revenue, increase engagement, and decrease bounce rate). If your hypothesis has a custom goal that will be most important, you can provide that information under "Objective."
Lastly, you will prioritize your Hypothesis by rating 3 categories from 1 to 5: Potential, Importance, and Ease. Learn more about prioritization and PIE scores.
